Ball Bearings

Self Aligning Ball Bearings

Self-aligning ball bearings have two rows of balls, a common sphered raceway in the outer ring and two deep uninterrupted raceway grooves in the inner ring. They are available open or sealed. The bearings are insensitive to angular misalignment of the shaft relative to the housing, which can be caused, for example, by shaft deflection.

Lager produces a wide range of standard and custom designs to offer advantages for applications with specific performance needs.
Series – 12, 13, 22, 23.

Features

LAGER recommends Self-Aligning Ball Bearings when the alignment of the shaft and housing is problematic and the shaft may bend. The outer ring has a spherical raceway and its center of curvature coincides with that of the bearing; therefore, the axis of the inner ring, balls and cage can deflect to some extent around the bearing center.

  • Thanks to its spherical structure, it can respond to axis misalignments up to ± 4 °.
  • Excellent alignment compensation due to the spherical outer ring raceway
  • Suitable for low to medium radial loads and low thrust loads
  • Available in open and sealed versions, as well as in tapered bore (suffix K)
  • Standard: DIN 616, DIN 630
